Prof. Dr. h.c. Ruedi Baur, Designer
Born 1956. Since 1989 in Paris and since 2002 in Zurich, his two studios  »intégral ruedi baur et associés« conceive and design solutions for questions of orientation, information, appearance and Signage. From 1989 to 1994 director of the department for design at the École des Beaux-Arts de Lyon and from 1993 to 1996 director of the graduate programme  »espaces civiques et design«. Appointed professor for Corporate Design at the Academy for Graphic & Book Art Leipzig in 1995, acting as headmaster from 1997 to 2000. Founded the Institute for interdisciplinary Design »2id« in 1999. Since 2004 founding director of the institute for research  »Design2context« within the Department of Design at the Zurich University of the Arts.

Clemens Bellut, Philosophy
Born 1956. Studies of Philosophy und Literature in Bonn and Tübingen. Lecturer at the Merz Akademie, University of the Arts Stuttgart, at FU Berlin and at TU Ilmenau. Until 2006 freelance consultant in Frankfurt am Main. Participant with Ruedi Baur and Vera Kockot at the Institute Design2context since 2006. Responsible for the research sector in the capacity of deputy director.

Stefanie-Vera Kockot, Cultural and Visual Studies
Born 1968. Studies of Cultural Science and Sociology at Lüneburg University. Carried out numerous publication and exhibition projects, as well as conference and research projects both nationally and internationally. Conducting transdisciplinary research and praxis at the interface of culture, science and politics on the basis of international teaching, researching and publishing experience. Director of the Institute of Art, Design and Media-technology 01plus at the Fachhochschule Nürnberg from 2000 – 2003, as well as Director of  various exhibitions spaces for contemporary art from 1996 -2006. Currently directing the Institute Design2context together with Ruedi Baur and Clemens Bellut, where among others she is responsible for the teaching sector (postgraduate programmes). In the research programs of  the Institute her focus lies on developing a critical and context reflexive analyse of design and its political impact.

Co-opting: Dr. André Vladimir Heiz, Design Theory and Semiotics
Since his  »Satz zum Gesamtkunstwerk« for Harald Szeemann, the traces of his scientific, theoretical and artistic activities revolve around the sign. This is evidenced by numerous essays on photography, graphic art, design, architecture and the media, some of which are  available on www. . Taught applied semiotics and methodology of the proposal at universities at home and abroad. Exhibitions in collaboration with Martin Heller among others as well as numerous research projects form part of his personal programme. As editor and author he is currently developing a paperback series on design principle under the title of  »Didaktika«. As a bilingual, he publishes in German and French. His literary oeuvre has received numerous distinctions. Since 2007, he is acting juror of the reading competition in Klagenfurt.
